CHIRAYATA- the magical herb by our mother nature. Every herb gifted by our own mother nature has different potential and different effects on our bodies .

Chirayata is a herb which is very beneficial to us and many of us in this world are unaware of this bitter herb and its honeydew benefits.

Let’s take one by one: -

Part used: -

Dried whole plant, roots, stem, and flowers.

Taste: -   bitter.

Chemical constitutions: -

Ophelic acid, Glucosides – Chiraytin and Amarogenin, Phenolics-Gentiopicrin and Swertion, Tannin, Calcium, Potassium, Gum , Malic acid , Oleic acid , Palmitic acid , Stearic acid.

Anaemia

Chirayata tea or its powder is used in chronic fever .its very beneficial for gout where uric acid is increased and have pain in smaller to big joints . its also called balya aushadhi which means energy provider and pacifies disturbed Vat in body and reduces pain.

In hepatic disorders kwath of Chirayata-means decoction with coriander and honey gives amazing effects.

In Raktapitta (bleeding disorders) its powder is mixed with sandalwood powder (dosage decided by ayurvedic practitioner) mixed with mud pot water and given to drink in decided time periods give very promising benefits.

Long term use of Chirayata powder with dried ginger powder shows positive effect in Anasarca and Edemas.

Equal amount of Chirayata powder with Tal Misri (Palm sugar) is very good for morning sickness during pregnancy.

Fresh leaves juice with black pepper and rock salt gives relief in Stomachic and indigestion.

 

But this must be noted that before taking any combination of herbs one must consult to Ayurvedic consultants for their required dosages because as per Ayurved every individual have their own body type / body constitution which is known as Prakriti which can only be judged by an Ayurvedic consultant .
